Alex Fleming
PARTNER
Alex co-founded FS Partners after a career in institutional real estate investing. Most recently, Alex worked in asset management for The Carlyle Group, where he drove strategy and performance for over 30 investments. His role included designing and executing business plans while working collaboratively with onsite management teams. Key functions included pricing strategy, marketing strategy, and budgeting, in addition to managing the debt and the sale process.
Prior to Carlyle, he worked on the Strategic Transactions team at TIAA in Charlotte, NC. His role included deal sourcing, due diligence, and execution across multiple real estate sectors.
A graduate of UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, Alex currently lives in Raleigh, NC and serves on the board of the Wake Stone Property Company. Alex likes to spend his free time fishing, bird hunting and cheering on the Tar Heels in Kenan Stadium.
Tom Squire
PARTNER
Tom co-founded FS Partners after a career in private equity and investment banking. Prior to FS Partners, Tom worked at Plexus Capital, a lower-middle market private equity firm. At Plexus, Tom was a member of the firm’s investment team where he primarily focused on deal sourcing, due diligence, and execution. Tom was also a board observer for two of Plexus’ portfolio companies, where he advised on financial and business strategy.
Prior to Plexus, Tom worked for Société Générale in the Leveraged Finance group. Tom began his career at Wells Fargo, where he worked in the Asset Backed Finance & Securitization and Wholesale Workout & Restructuring groups.
A graduate of Wake Forest University, Tom currently lives in Raleigh, NC with his wife Hilary and dog Tuna. Tom likes to spend his free time hunting, fishing, surfing, and cheering on the Demon Deacons.
